Having attended last nights album launch I must say it really went well. Rob was his usual funny self and the boys were in their usual gracious form.
It was great to catch up with fans old and new and here’s to an amazing tour this Summer.

It was a real fun evening & a welcome return to Islington's Union Chapel. It's such a beautiful venue & was totally packed out for tonight's Rob Brydon's interview & Q & A with Ron & Russell. His sense of humour throughout the night gave a welcome difference to the usual Sparks interview that we might see on TV or hear on the radio. Stating that he'd been a fan since the Propaganda days he almost sounded like a school headmaster sometimes, like when he repeatedly demanded that Russell answer his question as to how many bottles of water exactly did he drink a day. Russell's answer of 'a lot' (twice) wasn't good enough for him & he drilled poor Russell like he was a politician dodging the question until he got an answer of eight....maybe twelve, depending on the day. All in good humour of course.
I'm glad questions were freely thrown out to the audience which were varied & again all handled with a good sense of humour. Rob's impersonation of Ronnie Corbett in his story telling chair reciting 'This town ain't big enough for the both of us' was a very amusing highlight of the night too but you had to be there to really appreciate it.
Great to see a few familiar faces as well who all seemed to be heading to Hammersmith next month which is just gonna be Mad! See you there! _________________ The fan formally known as kermit

Thanks for your account, Kermit ... great that it was so different to the standard interview spiel ... sounds like it was a great evening! |

It was a really enjoyable evening. Rob Brydon was a lively interviewer, and I didn't realise he was already a fan. As Kermit! said, he didn't do a typical interviewer's routine, which Ron and Russell kept on top of well! Their replies were witty and insightful throughout, including during the generous amount of time for questions from online and the audience. Roll on the gigs! _________________ "but we can hear what others can't hear..." |
